Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

MirrorX is built to be private by design. Here's exactly what that means.

No data collection

MirrorX does not collect, store, or share any personal data. There is no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no user account. We never see what you mirror.

Everything stays local

When you mirror your screen, the video and audio travel directly between your iPhone and the device showing the page (your car's browser or another device), over your phone's local hotspot. This data never leaves your local network and is never sent to us or to any cloud server.

Permissions we use

  • Screen recording — to capture your screen and mirror it. The capture is processed on your device and streamed only over your local network.
  • Microphone — optional, to include audio in the mirror. Audio stays local, just like the video.
  • Local network — to let the receiving device reach the app's local server.
  • VPN / Network Extension — MirrorX installs an on-device tunnel only to make its local server reachable by devices on your hotspot. It is not a VPN service: no traffic is routed to the internet or to us, and nothing is logged.

The one network request we make

At startup, MirrorX downloads its TLS security certificate from our server at cert.mirrorx.tv. This request contains no personal data — it only retrieves the certificate that secures the local connection to your car. We do not log it or associate it with you.

Purchases

MirrorX Pro is a one-time purchase processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment details. Apple's handling of purchases is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Children

MirrorX is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.

Changes

If we update this policy, we'll post the new version on this page with a new date.
